From the Southern California estate sale of a silent film collector! Very hard to find original silent film movie theater herald for "FLARE-UP SAL."

"A story of the 49 gold fields, primitive love and wild romance run riot throughout the story."

"A wild story of a romantic time is "Flare-Up Sal". Sal is a waif in a '49 mining camp. She has been adopted by a miner and his wife. The old miner likes to gamble and drink. Sal goes to the Looloo Bird Saloon to get him one night. She is charmed by the music and begins a wild sort of dance, impulsively. Her guardian has lost everything he has at a game of poker. The proprietor gives back his fortune in return for his permission to keep "Sal". The proprietor tries to warm up to Sal, she angrily slaps his face and has the adjective "flare-up" added as a prefix to her name. Red Rider, a notorious outlaw, holds up the Looloo Bird and falls in love with "Flare-Up Sal", he finally gets her, but the way he does it gives a certain wild charm to the story which we are unable to produce here, so we will let you find that out when you see the picture. Dorothy Dalton's "dimples", which are now almost as famous as Douglas Fairbanks' "smile," work overtime in this picture and Dorothy Dalton, herself, becomes so charmed with the story and surroundings that she lives the part. She is supported by a notable cast."

"The dramatic story of a Dance Hall girls triumph. Wild romance, holdups, adventures, thrills, suspense. A little sob for the dance-hall girl and a laugh of joy at the climax."
