We are very pleased to be able to offer some beautiful antique hand-tinted color maps rescued from a badly damaged Mitchell's New General Atlas dated 1865. Augustus Mitchell was the premier map maker of the time.
For provenance, a copy of the title page will be provided.
This Map of the World In Hemispheres is dated 1860 in the bottom margin. Includes major rivers, the North Polar Region, Polar Projection, Land & Water Hemispheres. On the reverse is A Time Table indicating the difference in time between the principal cities of the world. Each clock has a city name in it and also the airline distance from Washington.
Huge size of 12.5 x 15.3 inches! Very good, some edge wear and marks, please examine the images for a better idea of condition.
