Two rare menu cards from a historical Boston beach hotel with stunning lithograph illustrations!
Date: Monday, June 28, 1880.
Restaurant: Hotel Nantasket - Hall And Whipple Youngs Hotel (and Auditorium).
Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
Size when open: Two menu cards on card stock, each is about 4.5 x 8 inches.
Hotel Nantasket was built in 1879 by William J. Nelson and included electric lights! 145 rooms, broad platforms, promenades, and piazzas lined the sides of the hotel & pavilion, rich in towers, gables, balconies, and pinnacles. In the auditorium, famous bands rendered sweet music across the sandy beach as visitors enjoyed clam bakes and the choicest foods were waited upon by servants. Demolished in the 1950's.
