This is a 1912 photogravure bookplate from the India volume of "The New America And The Far East", a ten volume set Illustrated with "over 1,400 Photogravures, Colored Plates, Engravings, and Maps". Total size is 7.5 x 10.5 inches, untrimmed. Please examine the image carefully, there may be small imperfections such as edge wear, small edge tears, marks, etc.. The verso (the back) is blank.

A photogravure, or "gravure", is a photographic image produced from a copper engraving plate. The process is rarely used today due to the high costs involved, but it produces prints which have the subtlety of a photograph and the art quality of a lithograph.
