Vardon has been poisoned by a clique of the Kaiser's aids, and through his death Dick comes into some valuable papers. By a clever ruse, the reporter keeps the papers from the hands of the enemy, upsets a hot-bed of the German spy system, and puts over one of the biggest stores in the history of metropolitan journalism.
