Here is a very rare collection of five original news photos of Arthur Hackwald's All Colored Negro Musical Comedy, "Struttin Sam From Alabam", written by Charles Alpin. This was at the Majestic Theater in Los Angeles, 1926.

The show was apparently shut down after just three days due to blacks protesting and boycotting about the theater owner, Jim Crow, and his policies.

Margaret Jackson (singer) (The Black Galli Curci)
Helen Justa & Boys (two pics)
Freita Shaw (Samoan Princess)
Amy Loften

Some of the photos have been hand re-touched. Wear, crinkles, smudges, etc. These came from a large collection of press photos we purchased, most of which were marked with L.A. Herald, so these may have come from there also.
