During the war, certain food items were in very short supply (sugar, meat, etc.), maximum limits on pricing & rationing for food and restaurants were set by the Office Of Price Administration (OPA). Private businesses and the government came up with some great ideas for this ration effort such as Wartime Recipe Books!
