From the Long Beach Independent, 1973...  "THE TRUE (ABSOLUTELY TRUE) LEGEND OF JUNGRY JOSE, ALIAS JARRY JEALEY -- One of the restaurant successes of the year is Jungry Jose's at Seaport Village, which celebrated its second birthday last week. It has enjoyed a 60 per cent increase in volume, unprecedented in this area. There are many reasons for the success of this restaurant with the funny name. I'll go into them in detail a little farther on. The chief reason is that owner Harry Healey has created a Mexican - American restaurant that is really different and unlike any other. Take the menu, for example.. It's an original which resembles an old California newspaper of the 1800s. It's called Jungry Jose's Jotline in keeping with Jarry's trick of spelling key English 'h' words with the Spanish 'J' which is pronounced the same way. The Jotline contains a history of hosting a daring Spanish adventurer named JOSE who established Rancho Hambre Jose in this area nearly 200 years ago. The history was written by Jarry and certain anonymous 'literary friends'. Just above it is printed a letter signed by the Jotline's publisher, Sidney V. Namedrop..."
