Description
This rare lithograph plate came from volume #1 of "Le Bon Ton D'Apre's Guerre (Art-Modes-Frivolites) that the magazine published in 1922-1923. There were two volumes, each one contained a potpourri of about 100 "tipped in" plates. These rare volumes in very good condition sell for about $7-$10k! Not counting the tipped in strip still attached, the size is 7.5 x 9.5 inches, or 19 x 24 cm.
For provenance, a copy of the title page will be provided with your purchase.
La Gazette du Bon Ton is generally considered the most influential fashion magazine of the first quarter of the 20th century. Published in ten issues annually from 1912-15, then again after WWI from 1920-1925. Only about 1600 copies of each issue were made, partly because a yearly subscription cost about $400 in today's dollars!
Great condition, but please examine the images for a better idea of small imperfections like edge tears and marks, they sometimes spilled paint here and there!
