Very hard to find!
Date: Estimated 1960's or 1970's.
Restaurant: Coral Reef Supper Club.
Location: Pattaya Beach, Thailand.
Size when open: Huge tall 4 panel menu - Card stock - 18 x 18 inches.
Apparently, the famous Blues Jazz Singer Pianist Composer, Gladys Palmer did a stint at this place for a while! When I acquired this menu, there was a copy of a 2 page article about her in it, which you will get of course.
I am estimating this menu to be from the 1960's or 1970's, if you are familiar with Thailand vintage pricing, please let me know a more accurate date! The Filet Mignon cost is 70 Baht which converts to $2.10 U.S. That price of $2.10 in the U.S. would indicate the 1940's, but I know that overseas pricing is much less! Right now, I can drive an hour and enter Mexico and get lobster tails for one third the price of where I live! So that is how I have come up with my estimate. Feel free to correct me if I am way off.
Condition: Most of our menus were actually used in the restaurant-bar, so there may be writing, wear & tear, spots, stains, creases, etc. So please examine the images closely! Extremely well used menu! This menu somehow ended up in California after having been used and repaired for decades with layers of tape! I believe it is being held together completely by tape! Pinholes, edge wear and tears, stains, scratches, crinkles, some handwritten prices. Pretty much you name it, and this menu has it, bent corners, etc, well actually there are no cigarette burn marks, so that is a plus!
