This yearbook has some photos of NFL's Marv Fleming! One group photo of the "JV Standouts" (#53), one group photo of the "JV football team" (#53), and one group photo of the "Varsity track team". There may be other photos of him in this book if you take the time to go through it real good. I did check the Juniors and Seniors pics, but did not see him. However he may be in the Freshman or Sophmore pics, I will let you check all those names!
Marvin L. Fleming (born January 2, 1942) is a former professional American football tight end with the Green Bay Packers and the Miami Dolphins. He is the first player in National Football League history to play in five Super Bowls—with Green Bay Super Bowl I and Super Bowl II; with Miami Super Bowl VI, Super Bowl VII and Super Bowl VIII.
At the May 4, 2011 public memorial for former Miami Dolphin Jim Mandich, teammate Bob Griese said "you could time a sun dial to Marv Fleming."
Fleming was the victim of an identity theft scam in the late 70s and early 80s. One Arthur Lee Trotter posed as Fleming and was arrested in Texas in 1980 for selling phony stock in NFL teams. Caught, Trotter conceded to police that he was not Fleming: he said he was actually former Baltimore Colts star John Mackey. Fleming was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.
This is an original yearbook, not a reprint! It has the typical classmate inscriptions which includes some great sexy cartoon art from the 50s!
