RARE 1961 ~EDWARD JAMES OLMOS~ Montebello Junior High School YEARBOOK ~UNMARKED~

This Junior High yearbook has many photos of Edward Olmos! Take a look at the index. There is also one classroom photo on page #14 that "I believe" is Edward Olmos (last pic, second boy from the teacher) which is not in the index, take a look at it and tell me what you think!

I am a huge Battlestar Gallactica fan myself and it is so cool to see him as a kid in all the groups and clubs he was involved with, I have included a couple of his photos, but not all. Junior High yearbooks are much harder to come by than the High School ones.

Edward James Olmos (born February 24, 1947) is a Mexican American actor and director. Among his most memorable roles are William Adama in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, Lt. Martin Castillo in Miami Vice, teacher Jaime Escalante in Stand and Deliver, patriarch Abraham Quintanilla in the film Selena, Detective Gaff in Blade Runner, and narrator El Pachuco in both the stage and film versions of Zoot Suit.

In 1988, Olmos was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film Stand and Deliver.

He has also been a longtime pioneer for more diversified roles and images of Latinos in the U.S. media. His notable direction, production and starring roles for films, made-for-TV movies and TV shows include American Me, The Burning Season, My Family/Mi Familia, 12 Angry Men, The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca, Walkout, The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit and American Family.

He graduated from Montebello High School in 1964. While at Montebello High School, he lost a race for Student Body President to future California Democratic Party Chair "Art Torres".

Great condition!

Cover is a little dirty, that's about it.

Fantastic photographs showing the students and faculty in activities, sports, and candids. Some great pictures of the school and the area.
